They Came From Dimension X Demo - Update 221113

Small performance and bug fix update. The performance update revolves around simplifying line of sight and AI turn-to-target functions, as they get called with a good amount of frequency. The bug fixes were many but most of them for features not used in the demo (inventory persistence across maps; the Hunger accidentally causing itself to bleed when eating; sleeping, worship, and eating states for various enemies; etc...) while the ones that do affect the demo were minor (doors not playing their move sounds when closing, etc...). I've also turned off V-Sync and removed the option for it, allowing players to set their own Target Framerate instead (defaulting to 60). Higher framerates can affect input somewhat, though the effect has been reduced. You may still need to adjust your aim sensitivity under Options > Input.

I know some of you still have FPS troubles that cause the game to be unplayable. I unfortunately still do not have a concrete solution for those of you who do. I'll keep trying to solve that one as best I can, but as a near-solo dev (solo adjacent?) I have to balance my time between solving that and moving forward with the rest of the game, now that the C++ rewrite is completed.

Speaking of moving forward, this week I'll be working on a new enemy for the Episode 1 campaign, along with a new weapon! Once the new weapon is completed, I'll update the demo. I won't be adding it to the demo level, but there may be another means to obtain it in-game...

Good luck, Explorers!
